About the position

We are constantly striving towards further optimizing our processes for existing and future powders, to achieve as competitive products as possible. At Höganäs the processes are focused on, but not limited to, reduction of metal compounds and annealing of metal powders.

As a Reduction & Annealing Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the development of one of the company´s core competencies. Your work will span from product and process development to transition and full implementation in the production of products, processes and facilities. You will also:

  • Conduct analysis of technical options for reduction and annealing processes, risk analysis, cost estimates, optimizations and investment calculations
  • Perform process safety analysis for new/existing technology
  • Performing accident investigations and impact assessments
  • Problem solving, optimization and elimination of bottlenecks in production flows

The position is located at Höganäs AB in Höganäs, Sweden. Global Technology, the department where you will be based, brings together our core competencies in process and equipment. The department supports the various facilities, around the world, from pre-study to project implementation or production start-up.

Your profile

We are looking for you who holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Process Design or similar. We think you should have 5-10 years of experience in the process industry, powder metallurgy, high-temperature heat treatment, combustion or similar. Knowledge in heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics and/or metallurgy is considered an asset.

We see you as a curious, strong team player who is not afraid to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed. You also need to have the ability to structure and organize your work in an efficient and good way. Previous experience of working with LEAN, Six sigma, Scrum or similar is considered a merit.

Travelling is required about 20-30 days/year outside of the pandemic. In terms of language skills, fluency in both Swedish and English is required.
