Hoganas in North America is seeking a Production Manager for its production facility located in Hollsopple, Pennsylvania.
About the position
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and performance of all day-to-day activities in melting of scrap utilizing a 50 Metric Ton Electric Arc Furnace and a Ladle Furnace for refining. The Melting Manager is responsible for process and engineering continuous improvement projects and trouble-shooting day-to-day problems and activities. This position will also be responsible for the planning efforts and manning requirements to ensure production requirements are achieved. The Melting Manager is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, costs, environment, human relations, refractory, training, and maintenance repairs as needed and requested by Management.
Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or technical school in engineering or science. Two years of experience in steel production, metallurgy or Powder Metal Components required. Electric Arc Furnace experience is also required. Familiarity with overhead cranes, refractory systems, and other melt shop equipment is preferred. Supervisory experience in a Union environment is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint is required along with experience in writing detailed reports.
