Oxide powders, silicon and silicides
Yttrium oxide powders can be used for dental ceramics that are free from porcelain and metal. Yttrium oxide is used to stabilise Zirconia, which is a very hard ceramic base material. Yttrium oxide powders can also be used as an additive in special glass, as a catalyst carrier, as a sintering additive and for luminescent materials.
Silicon metal powder is used for reaction-bonded Silicon Nitride and for infiltration for SiC. Silicon nitride is used in the casting industry for foundry applications. Molybdenum disilicide is a refractory ceramic, which is primarily used in heating elements for temperatures up to 1,800 °C, in electric furnaces and in the production environment when producing glass, steel, electronics and ceramics.
