Promoting PM technology in India

During five days in early February, Höganäs acted as a main driving force to promote Powder Metallurgy in India.

Starting with the PM Gear Day on February 5th, Höganäs presented powder metal (PM) gear technology and current as well as future potential gear projects to 70 participants from OEMs, system suppliers and component manufacturers. Mahesh Nipanikar, Manager Application Support and Technology at Höganäs India, was very pleased with the response from the participants.

“The reaction from the automotive industry was very positive. There seems to be a general openness to and interested in working with PM gear technology.”

The following day Höganäs hosted a PoP Seminar. About 150 participants took part in the program which covered information about the global powder metallurgy industry, development trends and conversion opportunities.

The PM-2013 Conference and Exhibition then completed the busy schedule on February 7th- 9th. The annual three-day long exhibition once again attracted a good flow of visitors, mainly from the Powder Metallurgy industry. Asked about what generated the highest level of interest in the Höganäs stand, Mahesh was quick to reply: “PM gears, without a doubt.”
