Höganäs’ first global safety week focused on risk awareness
All activities were organized in smaller groups and each country and plant planned their own activities, all focusing on risk awareness. There were activities such as safety walks and training, as well as activities focusing on risks regarding stress and travelling.
"We had a large focus on risk assessment and involved all co-workers. One example of an activity is that co-workers from the offices visited production to look at the workplaces at the plant with new eyes. It helped us to identify new risks," says Junichi Tomioka, General manager in Japan.
The team in Belgium put extra effort into making the Safety week fun by including both games and challenges such as "Hazard hunting".
"The Safety week has been a positive event that allows a new dynamic impetus from everyone, says Ludovic Druon, Safety manager in Belgium.
Commitment at all levels necessary
"I am proud of Höganäs' co-workers who have worked hard to accomplish the local activities and I see full engagement for safety at all levels within Höganäs. Commitment from all of us to obtain safe behaviour is absolutely key in our efforts to reach our goal of zero accidents”, says Håkan.
