Höganäs demonstrates PM gears in Tokyo

On the 24th-27th of July, Höganäs attended the MF Tokyo 2013 (Metal Forming & Fabricating Fair) in Tokyo, Japan to demonstrate high load-carrying PM gears together with other Japanese industry partners.

– Together with our partners the expertise in our stand covered metal powders, gear rolling, rolling equipment, powder compaction as well as rolling simulation, says Yoshikazu Aikawa, Customer Manager, Höganäs Japan. This way we could attract engineers working within different fields which in turn made the exhibition very successul.

The biannually held Metal Forming & Fabricating Fair Tokyo is one of the world’s two major fairs for forming machinery fairs. The fair attracts great attention from the domain of "manufacturing", and particularly, many visitors who are expert specialised in press working, sheet metal forming and processing. This year the exhibition attracted close to 30,000 visitors of which the majority were production engineers.

Höganäs exhibited PM gear development samples and presented some unique gear design concepts in terms of web design and unsymmetrical teeth as well as convoloid gears and more. Höganäs’ total solution capabilities from material selection, design, processing, prototyping, evaluation, to mass-production was also presented.

At the Technical Seminar, Dr. Norimitsu Hirose from Höganäs Japan presented PM gear development including introduction of materials, process recommendations and unique design ideas.
