EU’s REACH regulations

The European regulation on chemicals management REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) aims to provide better information throughout the whole supply chain about the effects of substances, and thereby improve protection to human health and the environment from chemical-related risks. In practice this means that all substances that are manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities greater than 1 metric ton per annum will need to be registered.

Höganäs Sweden AB has registered substances iron, EAF-slag, copper, molybdenum, manganese sulphide, triiron phosphide, nickel, chromium, silicon and aluminium. Höganäs Belgium S.A. has registered iron, nickel, molybdenum, chromium, phosphorous, silicon, tungsten, boron, cobalt and Fumes silica. All other substances are sourced via distribution chains which already have REACH registrations in place.
