16.01.2023 Press release

Fredrik Emilson, President and CEO of Höganäs AB, leaves Höganäs, and the recruitment process for a new CEO will be initiated

The Board of Directors and Fredrik Emilson have mutually agreed that Fredrik will step down as President and CEO of Höganäs AB. The change takes effect today, January 16, 2023. Until a successor has been appointed, Magnus Eriksson, CFO of Höganäs, will, in addition to his other duties, assume the role of interim CEO.

“We are thankful for the way Fredrik has expanded Höganäs, led the business through turbulent times and strengthened our position as the world’s leading metal powder company,” says Magnus Hall, Chairman of Höganäs. “Together with Fredrik, the board has agreed that following these active years and the conclusion of the coming strategy, now is the ideal timing for a change in leadership. We would like to thank Fredrik for his contribution and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

“After more than 13 years with Höganäs and almost six years as CEO during turbulent and challenging conditions, I believe it is time to hand over the reins to new forces with invigorated energy to take Höganäs to the next level,” says Fredrik Emilson. “To make a smooth transition we have agreed to make a swift transfer hence I will be leaving already now. I will remember my time with Höganäs with great affection and how much I have appreciated working with all colleagues.”

The change in leadership does not impact Höganäs’ direction or activities which will continue as planned. We will continue with our transition to become a sustainable metal powder producer and take advantage of all the opportunities that our market brings to light.

The search for a permanent replacement for the CEO will be initiated.
