Application areas:

  • Surface coating – finer powders for HVOF and HVAF spraying but also high-speed laser cladding technologies require finer powders less than 53 µm. This new fine powder atomisation operation will now allow Höganäs to offer new cost-efficient alloy-based powder products for the most suitable total cost solutions
  • Metal injection moulding (MIM) – a +20,000 tonne market in which Höganäs can now offer both powder and feedstock (powder and binder) solutions
  • Additive manufacturing (AM) – The cost-effective powders for additive manufacturing process - binder-jetting, are deemed essential for the technology to be considered as an alternative for high volume series production.

Dean Howard, President of Höganäs, AmericasDean Howard, President of Höganäs, Americas says: “This is an exciting investment by Höganäs to support future metal powder requirements across several market segments. Utilizing our extensive global footprint, we will effectively meet the needs our customers to help drive application and market development.”
