The new production plant is located at Höganäs’ facilities in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in the United States. Apart from being able to produce existing products such as 45 micron stainless steels (316L, 17-4PH), the new facility will also produce new grades below 25 microns, suitable for binder jetting and metal injection moulding technologies. Hot test is scheduled for end of February, qualification of existing products in Q2 and qualification of new grades in Q3 with market launch in Q4 2021. “This is exciting news as we can offer AM metal powder products with improved properties when it comes to size distribution, density and spreadability,” says Jerome Stanley, Director Sales & Business Development.
